Lakeshore had a similar problem to many of IMG’s markets. Local news had collapsed, and concern was growing in the three counties that make up the region. Housing was a major concern for the community. With encouragement from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, IMG connected with economic development groups, community foundations, and local county and municipality governments helped form an initial coalition to launch The Lakeshore West Michigan in July 2019. The publication focuses on the dynamic communities, businesses, and residents of Allegan, Ottawa, and Muskegon counties. Award-winning writer and longtime Lakeshore resident Shandra Martinez stepped into the role of Managing Editor after a distinguished career in daily journalism and business.
