Kathy Jennings

Kathy brings 45 years of journalism expertise to her role as Interim Editor of Model D, Issue Media Group's flagship publication. As a member of IMG's Editorial Council, she worked with Managing Editors across the organization to establish best practices and maintain editorial excellence in solutions-oriented journalism. Her deep understanding of community storytelling and editorial leadership helps guide Model D during this transitional period.

Kathy joined Issue Media Group in 2010, launching Southwest Michigan's Second Wave that year before moving into organizational leadership in 2022. She previously served as a section editor at the Kalamazoo Gazette, bringing decades of experience as both a beat reporter and editor. She also serves as chair of the Editorial Committee for the Southwest Michigan Journalism Collaborative and has been active with numerous nonprofits including the Kalamazoo Poetry Festival, Michigan Festival of Sacred Music, and Partners in Housing Transition.
