Kathy Jennings

Kathy Jennings brings 45 years of journalism expertise to her role, providing high-level editorial support and mentorship across the Issue Media Group network. She serves as a versatile leader who steps in to fill editorial gaps, provide coaching, and lead special initiatives. Currently, she is the Series Editor for "A Way Home," IMG’s solution-oriented housing series in Kalamazoo.

Kathy joined Issue Media Group in 2010, launching Southwest Michigan’s Second Wave and later moving into organizational leadership in 2022. Her background includes decades of experience as a beat reporter and section editor for the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Kathy is deeply involved in her community, serving as chair of the Editorial Committee for the Southwest Michigan Journalism Collaborative. She has also held active roles with nonprofits such as the Kalamazoo Poetry Festival, the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music, and Partners in Housing Transition.
