Across our journalism, we hold ourselves accountable to the communities we cover.
To do so, we ask our news sources about their experience interacting with journalists and to tell us if our stories have had an impact after they were published.
We are proud of our First Quarter Impact results, where we collected 102 Impact Surveys from the people we profiled. Eighty-seven percent reported that the published stories had a positive impact. After we helped tell their story, 20 percent noted they had increased funder relationships of either donors or customers. In addition, 15 percent grew their programming or received new clients. These surveys are completed two to three after a story is published. The change-makers and news sources are seeing an immediate impact from news coverage.
