Our mission
Incorporated in 2005 in Detroit, MI, Issue Media Group (IMG) publishes independent journalism online, through weekly email newsletters, social media, podcasts and other media. IMG also connects face-to-face with readers and their communities and engages conversations through listening sessions, town halls, and other events. With a solutions-oriented, narrative journalism approach, our publications aim to connect readers to their city’s most visionary and active people, businesses, and organizations. IMG publications focus on coverage of issues most important to the communities we serve, such as sustainability, transportation, arts and culture, talent, design, neighborhood growth and revitalization, small businesses and entrepreneurship, and social innovation.
Our model
We work with like-minded stakeholders who have shared values and missions through an underwriting model of publishing. Our work is editorially independent, but the financial support of our partners allows us to dedicate and expand our attention to these issues and ideas. Our content is freely available - no paywalls - but readers may support our journalism with voluntary contributions.
