Earlier this year, IMG launched a new series highlighting how Southeast Michigan parks are an engine of exploration, education, and play for all -- especially those who have historically lacked access to all parks have to offer.
Underscoring the importance of parks
for everyone, the series is called
Equity in Our Parks, and is published regularly in
Model D, Metromode, and
Concentrate! A recent story focused on an initiative, Metroparks and Me, a fundraiser to provide free swimming lessons and supplemental science lessons in under-resourced classrooms.
The series is supported by Oakland County Parks and Recreation, Wayne County Parks and Recreation, Huron-Clinton Metroparks, City of Detroit, and Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.
