Like many major metropolitan regions, Southeast Michigan is a rich tapestry of communities with stories waiting to be told — stories that highlight local character, strengthen community attachment, and attract investment. Here’s how we’re working with four distinct Partner Cities to lift up their stories:
- Sterling Heights is Michigan’s fourth largest city and boasts safe neighborhoods, growing diversity, and access to the great outdoors. It’s also a center of industry, attracting the next generation of auto manufacturing and entrepreneurs alike.
- Oak Park has evolved from a quieter neighbor of Ferndale and Royal Oak to a contender in its own right, with a healthy financial outlook and new investments pointing to an even brighter future.
- Farmington’s bustling downtown is a hub of activity — festivals, parks, public art, and small businesses abound—and the community is receiving national recognition for their creative placemaking efforts.
- Hazel Park is the little city that could, characterized by a bubbling creative vibe, a strong can-do spirit, and a history of adaptability. By continuing to believe and invest in itself, Hazel Park is staying true to its roots as “The Friendly City.”
