On the front lines with nonprofit organizations

In our ongoing Nonprofit Journal project – an IMG initiative that started soon into the COVID pandemic to document the stories of challenges nonprofits faced at the time – leaders in the sector today continue to share insights and stories of coming together to think bigger, solve problems, and execute transformative projects. For this project, IMG has partnered with the Michigan Nonprofit Association, Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, and Co.act Detroit.

Recent “journal entries” include stories in suburban Detroit about:
  •          Advancing Macomb, an organization demonstrating the critical role of connector organizations in helping community-based organizations find resources and funding.
  •          Zaman International in Inkster, a culinary training program providing women — particularly immigrants including refugees — the skills and resources to succeed in a new career.
  •          GiGi's Playhouse, a "magical" hub of programming and support for people with Downs Syndrome and their families.
